About this experience
I’ll give you a brief introduction on the basics of paddleboarding and kayaking before we head out onto the water to explore a lush mangrove jungle. As we wind our way through narrow canals, we’ll be on the lookout for all different types of wildlife including; manatees, iguanas, birds, crabs, fish, raccoons even possibly dolphins. We’ll explore the natural wonders of the area for a couple hours before making our way into so mangrove tunnels where we will relax, swim and enjoy a delicious fresh fruit snack and drinks . Including; watermelon, cantaloupe, banana. Drinks included and totally free all you can drink; gatorade, soda and water. After we are all full and everyone is ready to go we will head back to shore. There is never a rush for time. Please keep in mind the manatees and dolphins we are spotting are wild animals roaming a large area. They are seen less often in the summer months. Don't worry there will still be many beautiful plants and animals to see and learn about.

Planning perspective
How I’d plan this experience
I’d choose this four-hour outing if you want Miami’s watery, mangrove-lined side to be the point of the day rather than a quick add-on between city sights. It combines an introductory paddle with time to pause, swim and snack, so it feels better suited to curious first-timers and relaxed nature-seekers than to travellers chasing a hard workout or a guaranteed wildlife encounter.
Who this experience suits best
My advice: pick it if you like learning as you move at an unhurried pace. The initial basics session makes the SUP and kayak format approachable, while the mix of narrow canals, mangroves and wildlife watching gives the paddle a clear sense of place.
I think it is particularly appealing for groups with mixed confidence on the water: you can choose between a kayak and a stand-up paddleboard, and the stated fitness level is broad. That said, being comfortable spending a substantial part of the outing outdoors and on the water still matters more than raw athletic ability.
Recurring feedback highlights knowledgeable, helpful guides and the mangroves themselves, which suggests this is a stronger fit for people who enjoy interpretation and spotting details than for those who simply want independent board rental.
Choose your craft for comfort, not bravado
I’d choose a kayak if your priority is settling in, watching the mangroves and keeping your energy for the full outing. A SUP will suit travellers who actively want the balancing element and an open, standing view of the water. There is no need to make the board the “more adventurous” choice if you would enjoy the scenery more seated.
The route’s appeal lies in winding through canals and looking out for a varied ecosystem, so it makes sense to select the craft that lets you stay attentive rather than preoccupied with technique. Safety gear is included, and both kinds of craft are provided.
Plan for a social, flexible-paced half day
This is not a short paddle: allow the full four hours and arrive with enough margin to find the marina meeting point. I’d aim for the requested 30-minute early arrival rather than cutting it close, especially because the directions involve walking down to the marine gas station and identifying a bright-blue boat.
The itinerary is designed around roughly two hours exploring before a stop to relax, swim and have fruit and drinks. That break is a meaningful part of the experience, not merely an afterthought, so I’d recommend it to travellers happy with a social rhythm rather than those wanting uninterrupted paddling.
A practical limitation is that there is no bathroom while you are out on the kayak or SUP. Use the facilities before departure, and remember that weather may still mean a wet day: the activity is intended to proceed in rain unless it is cancelled at the start time.
Keep wildlife expectations grounded
I’d go for the mangrove environment, plants and paddle itself, then treat larger-animal sightings as a bonus. Manatees and dolphins are wild and range widely, with fewer sightings noted in summer; no thoughtful itinerary can promise them.
Raccoons emerge repeatedly in traveller feedback, including accounts of encounters on an island stop, so they may be a memorable part of the day. Still, wildlife has its own schedule. The more reliable value here is time in a distinctive coastal habitat, plus the chance to look for birds, crabs, fish and iguanas along the way.
